About the Green Marshal Project
The Green Marshal initiative is an eco-governance program managed by the Directorate of Tourism, Government of Kerala. Green Marshals are deployed at key tourist destinations to monitor plastic waste, ensure compliance with Kerala’s Green Protocol, prevent littering, guide tourists, and assist local tourism management committees in maintaining eco-friendly destinations.
Engagement in this project provides individuals with community-level environmental management experience, operational exposure to government tourism initiatives, and daily wage employment.
